This gift from our Holy Mother St. Mary was given to us as a place of worship, fellowship and meditation; a retreat away from the world in order to grow spiritually in fellowship with our Lord. The Vineyard is a retreat center belonging to the Coptic Orthodox Church overseen by H.H. Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark. The retreat center was created to serve and nourish the Coptic Christian beliefs and traditions. We ask the intercession of the saints because of the great favor they have with the Lord who loves them... The saints who departed are still living. The Lord explained this fact when He said, "Have you not read what was spoken to you by God saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." (Mat 22:31,32). Therefore those saints are still living. Why should we consider them dead and not ask their prayers. - Pope Shenouda IIIRead More
